Who could Resist Rusty Beach Treasures
Making the most of the sunny spell, the beach calls … and delivers .. yummy rusty contenders for our rust dying experiments .. It is fun to rust non-rusty metal using vinegar and salt , leaving it outside to weather or steaming it .. but it is almost even more delicious to go out hunting for rusty metal that has been softly seasoned by the saltwater and the elements, being battered around by the changing tides and leaving the story of a long journey to tell its tale amongst the patterns and textures of its rusty patina … now just look at these finds that make me happy ..
One of my favourite Rusty Nail Finds ..it looks like a perfect artwork all by itself … the colours of the stones in the sunlight emit such a gorgeous blue hue … don't you think ? :-)
Love the way these pieces of rusted wire poke out and cast an interesting shadow onto the surface itself ..
I think the local farmers would seriously doubt my sanity if they could see me swoon over these rusty nails ..
on a lovely sunny day the shadow play is almost as interesting as the rust pattern themselves ..
I particularly like rounded and curved shapes rather than straight edges and this is going to be a perfect rusty contender .. a half ring long broken off from its whole ..yet now cosily nestling up to it's rusty friends in my bag …loved once again ..
Rust with a View
Maya loves the rope climbs along the way :-)
A great view over the estuary across the snowdonia mountains today, although it is quite clear today , only the first mountains are visible, on a crystal clear day the mountains stretch for miles over the waters … I never tire of this view and my heart is so at home here .. I am truly blessed … (( insert deep breath sigh )) :-)
a great day … now off to warm our chilly noses
