Pin Weaving - UnRuly Cloth & Canvas

Pin Weaving - UnRuly Cloth & Canvas

Weaving has always had the notion of being too structured, to pristine, to predictable for me until I came across some wild weavings of other artists that changed my notion and opened up my muses will to explore and make it my own .... I like tiny, I adore minature and I actively seek macro ... so where will that lead me under the context of WEAVING

Pin weaving maybe

Weaving Together
needle pins
wrapped
waiting in a row
to follow the notion of my mind

UnRuly
connected

strangely
there is something soothing
in repetition
a rhythm
that underlies
the breath of existence

I find myself harmonising

:::

chance choices
picking up the next thread that lies closest
held together by a focus
of
white
off white
odd white
yet again

noticing the need
to break ranks
causing the eye to stumble
before it gets too comfortable
with the perceived
predictability

the other end is reached
pins are released
loose threads
hold on to a story that could have been
but got interrupted
and they are left
to form
individual
new
beginnings
in the vast
emptiness
of
possibility

I wonder whether a little pin weaving

  5. Charming! I recently inherited a big loom, but it's a little daunting at the moment... I'm feeling pretty inspired to try out pin weaving this week now!
